What are the criteria used in rating?

Honswers' feedback are made by the requestor giving a 1-5 score on four standardized criteria: objectivity, usefulness, intention and feeling.

Objectivity

Objectivity indicates whether the feedback seemed to be based on elements directly related with the questions at hand (objective) or on unrelated elements (subjective). For instance, if I'm asking whether my singing sounds good and your feedback is focused on my appearance, I may consider that your level of objectivity was low since your judgment was based unrelated aspects of what's really of interst to me.

  1. Completely subjective
  2. Biased towards subjectivity
  3. Unable to say / Neutral
  4. Biased towards objectivity
  5. Completely objective

Usefulness

Usefulness measures what I can derive from your feedback in terms of answering the question that was troubling me, my dilemma... For instance, if I was asking why I was unable to land second dates and you identified that the way I dressed was incompatible with the image I wanted to communicate, your feedback will help me find solutions to resolve my issue.

  1. Detrimental
  2. Useless
  3. Unable to say / Neutral
  4. Relevant
  5. Useful

Intention

Intention seeks to quantify what the requestor assumed was the intention behind the feedback. Bullying behaviors are not welcome on Honswer. So, honswerers who receive consistent low grades on this criterion might end up losing opportunities to participate in new requests.

  1. Consciously hurtful
  2. Unconsciously hurtful
  3. Unable to say / Neutral
  4. Unwillingly helpful
  5. Consciously helpful

Feeling

Feeling is the criterion where the requestor expresses how the feedback made them feel. Everyone is different, so there is no sure way to get a good grade on this criterion. Some people may feel better receiving a negative feedback that feels sincere than a positive one that feels fake...

  1. Bad
  2. Worse than I felt before reading the feedback
  3. Unable to say / Neutral
  4. Better than I felt before reading the feedback
  5. Good
